We specialize in providing shelter and community-based development programs for prevention, healing and recovery of survivors and at-risk of trafficking, sexual abuse, and other forms of gender violence. Currently, SMEIDFI operates 14 shelters and 9 community-based programs all over the country.

Our Expressions of Social Justice

Established in 2000,
SMEIDFI serves as the umbrella organization of all shelter and community-based agencies of the Religious of the Good Shepherd in the country, overseeing resource development and project management.

Our work started in 1912 when three Irish sisters journeyed from Burma to the port of Batangas to establish a Catholic school. Today, the congregation operates three educational institutions that offer programs and services that are person and community oriented, and anchored on Christian faith and values.

Innovative Ministries

From strengthening local cooperatives to the formation of local clergy, the Good Shepherd Innovative Ministries (GSIM) allow us to transform society and the Church through channels outside our congregation's established ministries.

Sensitive to the signs of times, we respond and take specific actions on pressing issues. From the dumpsites of Manila to the remote islands of Samar, we express solidarity with peoples through meaningful developmental work.

Institutional Supporters

The whole RGS Philippines thanks our individual and institutional donors for the donations we receive.
Gratitude is the memory of the heart.
